Black-and-White African Wildlife Photography

This is a curated gallery of my black-and-white African wildlife photos.

Many of my black-and-white photos are actually monochrome and not traditional black and white. The photos have a slightly warmer sepia or cooler blue tint, often applied to only the darks and shadows, barely noticeable at times. This affords each photo a unique identity.

In wildlife photography, the monochromatic style accentuates the subtle textures, shapes, and contrasts of the essence of the subjects. The absence of color brings focus to the intricate patterns, forms, and quiet moments of the wild, creating a striking, understated portrayal of these creatures and their stories of survival.

The locations of the photos are within Southern Africa, from the vastness of the arid Kalahari Desert to the savanna grasslands, mopane bushveld, and riverine forests of Kruger National Park.
